The community which is referred to by locals as \"The Kill\" is located just miles northwest of Bay St. Louis. It was named for the huge kilns that early French settlers used to burn charcoal. Legend has it that Kiln was known as the moonshine capital of the world during the bootlegging days of prohibition. But today, Kiln has legal watering holes and is a highly sought out destination for native Brett Favre fans from around the country to drop in and pay tribute to their beloved quarterback and have a cold one.
