Products What Makes our Us Special? Here at Lazy Magnolia we brew Southern Tradition. Although everyone knows that the South is famous for good food, few people understand that there is a great Southern tradition in brewing, mostly because everyone around here kept it to themselves. In fact, Kiln, MS is known as the bootleg capital of Mississippi. The other important piece of information is that all moonshine starts life as beer. We're breaking with tradition, but only in the sense of making a legal brew. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Allergies All of our beers contain hops, wheat, malted barley, rye, and water. We also use Pecans, Sweet Potatoes and other spices in some of our beers, and the same equipment is used to make them all, so if you are especially sensitive you might want to be careful. Please don't die on us.

Southern Pecan – A true classic. The original Pecan Nut Brown Ale. The conventional wisdom is that nuts and beer don't mix. Maybe it's something about the water here, and maybe it's just the smooth toasted flavors in Southern Mississippi pecans, but our pecans help make what we consider to be one of the best beers we have ever tasted. We consider pecans to be a perfect addition to this nut brown ale. Smooth and mild with a malty sweetness accentuated by a rich finish. A finely balanced ale destined to become a southern classic.

Amberjaque – True to our pirate roots here along the southern border of Louisiana. The French called the local pirates Jacques, but our Brewster insists on the female spelling Jaque. Amberjaque is a light amber ale made with Pale malts, Rye, and Caramel malts. A wonderful refreshing light bodied ale, it’s the perfect starter beer. The aroma hops provide a hint of spice, but there is no bitterness in this beer. Second only to Southern Pecan as one of our signature beers.

Our Seasonal Products Brewed when times are good, these seasonal products provide our Brewmasters a chance to spread their wings a little and try something new. All of these brews are distinctively different and bear the mark of hand-craftsmanship. Hard Cranberry Ginger Ale—A light, refreshing alternative to beer and the perfect antidote to hot summer days in the South. With the color of sunset on the beach and a palate bursting with the spicy, invigorating heat of ginger and the tart, tangy zing of cranberries, this is a real treat to be enjoyed year round. Gulf Porter – This English style beer has a mouthful of hops right up front. The authentic stuff. This dark beer is smooth and strong, dark and deep, with more character than the alphabet. Jefferson Stout – Our Sweet Potato Cream Stout. Dark and hearty. An acquired taste for the traditional American beer drinker, it soon becomes a favorite of the adventuresome. Made with sweet potatoes to provide the body typical of the style and spiced with lactose (milk sugar) to give it a little cream. Harvest Moon – A seasonal brew for the fall. Brewed with local pumpkin for color and flavor and dry-hopped with vanilla, this brew warms the heart and evokes the Christmas spirit. Indian Summer – A seasonal brew for the late summer. The Indian Summer is a summer wheat beer spiced with orange peel and coriander. Light and refreshing, the perfect companion for the porch swing in the late summer. The Lighthouse Pale Ale – A pale ale with a touch of amber malt. This ale is all about the hops. If you consider yourself a hop-head then this is the beer for you. With three different hop varieties we think you’ll enjoy the flavor that fills the glass first and your nose second.

Our Standard Packaging We provide beer in the following packages: 15.5 gallon Sankey Tap Kegs 5.16 gallon Sankey Tap Kegs 2.25 gallon Party Pigs Self Pressurized Kegs For individuals interested in enjoying our beers at home we recommend that you invest in a "kegerator" which you can make from an old refrigerator (full sized 19 cubic foot refrigerators will hold about 5 of or 5.16 gallon kegs) or from an old dorm fridge. The kits can be purchased from lots of places including Midwest Supplies and others (check under their kegging equipment). They make a great gift for Valentine's Day, Christmas, National Beer Day, Labor Day, any time really. Generally the kits involve cutting a 1" hole in the door of the fridge for every tap (our home fridge has three holes). The kits come with a carbon dioxide bottle that you can trade at any welding supply store. We've also been alerted that Home Depot is selling already converted "kegerators" as a stock item. Could be a good deal for the non-mechanically inclined. The only issue with taps is that you have to keep them clean, which requires a rinsing after every use, we keep a bottle of dilute sanitizer handy to spray out the faucet when we're done, and monthly we take the taps and faucets apart to clean them. A small investment for great beer. For people that don't have or want a spare fridge our Party Pigs make a great alternative. They take up about as much room as 2 gallons of milk (not that you should stop drinking milk). They slide into the top shelf of most fridges and being self-pressurized, you don't have to worry about the beer going stale (no air is pumped in to get the beer out). The result is a package that is convenient and suitable for relaxed consumption at home. We get asked, often it seems, why we only provide beer in kegs. The answer is simple. Kegs provide the freshest tasting product--kegged beer is better. That isn't to say that bottles are bad, but they do have a very limited shelf life, and freshness is always a compromise in such packages. We do offer beer in case sized packages, called Party Pigs. These 2.5 gallon containers are self pressurized and suitable for a refrigerator shelf or a trip to the beach (the bottles inside the box are plastic). These packages are returnable to the brewery for customers concerned about the environment and we are happy to take them.
