Warren Fuller was the first person,
along with Midge Lagerstrum, to ever
get a tour of Lazy Magnolia Brewing
Company.
Warren wasn't big on the internet, but
he showed up one morning at 10:00 AM
on his way to Gordon Biersch in New
Orleans with a carefully folded printout
of our webpage.
I was waist deep (head first) cleaning
our mash/lauter tun, when this
white-haired man
came prancing in like he owned the
place. I pulled my head up and saw
Warren and
Midge and assumed that they had to be
lost. I asked, "Can I help you?"

Warren replied, "Is this the Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company? If this isn't it, we have another
address for the guy who owns the place."
As it turns out, in addition to the brewery address, he also had my home address. Warren
was quite resourceful, even for someone not interested in the internet. For the next hour or
so I showed them the brewery and how we had things set up. He asked a lot of questions,
mostly I think to see if I knew my business or if we were just a couple of homebrewers with
no business sense.
I think when he left, that he left with a good vision of what we were and what we wanted
to accomplish. We saw Warren probably once a month after that as he would come by to
supervise the changes we made. He would tell us where he had the beer recently, and he
would ask where else he could get it as he liked to spread the business around.
Occasionally, he would bring with him other converts, and they would tour the building
with him.
Warren was special; he was our biggest fan--and it's people like Warren that give a job like
this meaning. When we are at the brewery filling kegs till 2:00 A.M., it's people like Warren
that give us the motivation to keep going.
We will miss Warren Fuller. He passed away as a result of his experiences during hurricane
Katrina. Our love to his family and Midge.

We don't tell people what to like, we just give them great choices!
